The Government of Uttar Pradesh has launched the UP Scholarship 2025–26 for students from Class 9 to Post Matric (other than Intermediate). This scheme aims to support financially weak students by providing scholarship assistance directly to their bank accounts. The online application process has begun at https://scholarship.up.gov.in. From this session onwards, One Time Registration (OTR) is mandatory for all students.

Pay Scale / Scholarship Amount

Scholarship amount varies depending on class and course level:

Pre-Matric: ₹1,000 – ₹5,000 per year
Post-Matric (Inter): ₹5,000 – ₹12,000 per year
Other Than Inter: ₹8,000 – ₹15,000 per year

Eligibility

The applicant must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh. The student must be enrolled in a recognized school, college, or institute. Pre-Matric: For Class 9th and 10th students. Post-Matric: For Class 11th and 12th students. Other Than Intermediate: For students pursuing graduation, post-graduation, diploma, or technical courses. The Aadhaar card must be linked with the student’s bank account. The student must have passed the previous year’s exam.

Selection Process

Selection is done on the basis of document verification, academic records, and institute approval. There is no fixed percentage criteria, but higher scorers receive priority during fund disbursement.

How To Apply
From session 2025–26, OTR is mandatory for every student applying through the UP Scholarship portal. Visit https://scholarship.up.gov.in → Click on New OTR Registration. Verify Mobile Number Complete Aadhaar e-KYC Generate Your OTR Number ⚠️ Each student must have only one OTR number. Multiple registrations may lead to disqualification. Step 2: Scholarship Registration After OTR, students need to register themselves using their Name, Father’s Name, College Name, and Mobile Number. A Registration Number will be generated after successful submission. Step 3: Fill the Application Form Log in with your credentials and fill in all the required details carefully — including Aadhaar Number, Income, Caste, Education Details, and Bank Account Information. Upload scanned documents and double-check all information before final submission. Step 4: Biometric & Institute Verification Your form will be biometrically authenticated by your school/college. After successful verification, the institute forwards it to the next level. Step 5: District Level Scrutiny The application will be verified by the District Scholarship Committee. Students can check the status online — Accepted, Pending, or Rejected. Step 6: Fund Disbursement Once the verification is complete, the scholarship amount will be credited directly to the student’s bank account through Aadhaar-based fund transfer.
